December 2025

Dear SDP Families,

As we welcome the month of December, our classrooms are brimming with winter magic, holiday excitement, and opportunities to learn about the beauty of the season. Please take a moment to read below for this month’s themes, important dates, and festive celebrations!

December Themes:

This month, we’ll be exploring topics that celebrate winter, cultural traditions, and the joy of learning together:

  • Winter Wonderland: Children will discover the wonders of the winter season, snowflakes, ice, weather changes, and all the beauty nature shows us as the world gets colder.
  • Holidays Around the World: We’ll learn about different holiday traditions celebrated across the globe, including Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and more, highlighting the importance of community, diversity, and togetherness.
  • Winter Animals & Nature: The children will explore how animals adapt during winter, hibernation, migration, and how nature changes during this chilly season.
  • New Year’s Celebration: As the year comes to a close, we’ll reflect on our favorite memories of 2025 and welcome the new year with fun activities, goals, and celebrations.

Throughout the month, we’ll continue practicing healthy habits such as handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, and dressing appropriately for the cold weather.
