March Newsletter
Dear SDP Families,
Happy March!
As we begin transitioning from winter into spring, our classrooms continue to be filled with curiosity, creativity, and meaningful learning experiences. With warmer weather on the horizon, we are excited to spend more time outdoors and explore the changing season with the children. March is also a time to celebrate International Women’s Month, where we recognize the importance of strong and inspiring women in our communities in age-appropriate ways. Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support. Please take a moment to read below for this month’s themes, important dates, and upcoming updates.
March Themes: Throughout the month, children will explore themes such as:
- Spring and seasonal changes
- Weather and nature exploration
- Rainbows and colors

Through hands-on activities, play, and daily routines, children will continue building confidence, social skills, and curiosity about the world around them.

Spring Weather Reminder: We are finally beginning to see some beautiful spring weather after a long winter! As temperatures begin to change, please make sure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for outdoor play.
Please remember to send:
- Weather-appropriate jackets or layers
- Comfortable outdoor shoes
- A full extra change of clothes in your child’s cubby for messy play or accidents
State regulations require children to have at least 30 minutes of outdoor play daily, weather permitting, and we are excited to spend more time outside exploring and playing with the children.
Spring Health Reminder: As the seasons change, we often see an increase in seasonal allergies, runny noses, and mild cold symptoms. We kindly ask families to continue monitoring their children for any signs of illness and to keep them home if they are not feeling well. Helping children practice hand-washing, covering coughs and sneezes, and getting plenty of rest helps keep our school community healthy. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!

Looking Ahead – Spring Break Just a friendly reminder that Spring Break will take place from April 3rd to April 12th. The center will reopen on Monday, April 13th. We wanted to give families plenty of time to plan. Thank you for being an important part of our Small Discoveries family. We look forward to a wonderful month filled with learning, laughter, and the start of the spring season.
Warmly,
Ms. Jennifer Vera
