Dear SDP Families,

Summer is in full swing, and our classrooms are filled with sunshine, laughter, and exciting new adventures!

July is a wonderful time for children to explore the world around them through hands-on learning, outdoor play, water activities, and special summer events. We look forward to making lasting memories while continuing to encourage creativity, curiosity, and confidence in each of our students.

Thank you for your continued support, partnership, and trust. Please take a moment to read below for this month’s themes, important dates, and reminders.

Through hands-on activities, creative play, and meaningful learning experiences, children will continue building independence, social skills, problem-solving abilities, and a lifelong love of learning.

Important Dates

Friday, July 3rd – Independence Day Observance

School Closed

In observance of Independence Day, Small Discoveries Preschool will be closed on Friday, July 3rd. We hope all of our families have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend!

Thursday, July 9th – Magic Show

11:00 AM

Our students are in for a special treat! A magician will be visiting the school to provide an exciting and interactive magic show for all classrooms.

Friday, July 17th – Bounce House Day

11:00 AM

Get ready to jump into some summer fun! Children will have the opportunity to enjoy our bounce house during this exciting outdoor event.

Monday, July 20th – Special Dental Visit: Abra Dental

We are excited to welcome Abra Dental for a special visit this month! Their team will be providing an educational presentation along with optional dental screenings for interested families.

Consent forms will be emailed home prior to the visit. If you would like your child to participate in the dental screening, please complete and return the signed consent form before the scheduled visit.

Unfortunately, screenings cannot be completed without a signed consent form on file.

September Enrollment Reminder

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we are finalizing our September enrollment.

If there have been any last-minute changes to your family’s plans, particularly if your child was expected to leave but will now be returning for the fall, please let us know as soon as possible.

This information is extremely helpful as we finalize classroom placements and staffing.

Thank you to all of the families who have already communicated their plans!

Summer Weather Reminder

With warmer temperatures and plenty of outdoor fun, please help your child stay comfortable and prepared each day by sending:

• A labeled water bottle
• Sunscreen, labeled if left at school
• Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes
• A complete change of clothes or a bathing suit

Please remember that any day may become a Water Play Day depending on the weather. Having an extra change of clothes or a bathing suit available each day helps ensure your child is always prepared to participate in the fun.

Summer Health & Safety Reminder

Our teachers will continue encouraging healthy habits throughout the summer by promoting hydration, frequent handwashing, sun safety, and active outdoor play while ensuring all children remain safe and comfortable.

Looking Ahead

We are excited to continue our summer festivities throughout August with more outdoor adventures, creative learning experiences, and plenty of fun!

As a reminder, our annual end-of-summer closure will take place Monday, August 31st through Wednesday, September 9th, as shared in our previous email.

We will reopen for the 2026–2027 school year on Thursday, September 10th.
